Day 30: Pioneer and Endicott Building, St. Paul

Under renovation. This building has the Nation's first glass elevator in it.

I snapped this photo of the interior of the Pioneer and Endicott Building in downtown St. Paul just before I was told by a security guard that I couldn’t take photos. The interior space is impressive with it’s open skylight and first-in-the-country glass elevator.

  1. I wonder why you weren’t supposed to take photographs? I like this and am glad you got the shot before getting caught. (I once got in trouble in a Whole Foods store for taking pictures – and I was taking pictures of the building, an old trolley barn.)

    1. I don’t know either. I was in the ‘Skyway’ the indoor sidewalk St. Paul has to help combat the cold. The Skyway is likely not public like a sidewalk and I was inside a building under renovation. Perhaps it was the wish of the contractor?

    1. thank you for the compliment. that was a cool shot, if I do say so, only had one chance at it for the security guard told me I couldn’t take photos. (easier to apologize than to ask permission)
